The well deserved hard-punching and tough as nails champion Marcos Maidana put on a display of true grit tonight as he squared off with the outspoken and flamboyant Adrian Broner.
Both traded good shots but Broner was floored in the second round.
As the fight continued, both fighters landed clean punches with the harder of the two by Maidana.
After the 12 rounds were up Adrian Broner was immediately examined by a doctor for a hard landed hook at the final second of the fight.

Sergio Gets The Win and the Belt!

Good fights last night!! Sergio Martinez now 50-2-2 pulled off the win against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, giving him his first lost 46-1-1, and regaining the middleweight title..Great boxing from Sergio Martinez throughout all twelve rounds, but in the final rounds Chavez Jr. began to hurt Martinez and dropped him in the 12th. Martinez stood up and survived the rest of the round. Had Chavez Jr. turned it up and got an earlier start, i believe he could have won that fight. He looked a lot bigger than Martinez. Already talks of a rematch..Hey, why not?? Also, Canelo Alavarez (41-0-1, 30)gets the win over Josesito Lopez (30-5), showing how powerful his shots are by firing away at Lopez's body and head, He was floored 3 times in the fight but finally finishes him with the TKO in the 5th with a wonderful combination.

Sorry for the leave of absence..but back in the ring now!! So, this is not too surprising but one of boxing's favorites right now, Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KOs)takes on and defeats Chad Dawson (31-2, 17 KOs) to prove his hype is no fluke. Ward started to land shots in the third round and early in the fourth to take control of the fight but ultimately finished him off with a combination in the 10th.

Mayweather Released Early?

Floyd Mayweather was released from jail early this Friday morning after only serving 2 out of his 3 month sentence. Now, his lawyers and personal physician are saying his career could be in jeapardy due to the jail food and water not meeting Mayweather's dietary needs, and lack of exercise space in a cramped cell decreased his health and fitness. He didn't complete the sentence because the state of Nevada allows inmates to work off 10 days per month at the jail. A Las Vegas jail administrator and department spokesman said he wasn't required to work. My question is even if he did work, "Doesn't 10 days a month after 2 months equal 20 days?" I think that means he got an extra 10 days taken off for good conduct, while in protective custody. Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa rejected arguments that Mayweather's accommodations were cruel and unusual. The judge ruled June 13 that while Mayweather might not have liked the regimen, he had sufficient space and time for physical activity and the only reason he wasn't eating properly was because he was refusing to eat the meals he was given.

50 To Join TMT

Rapper 50 Cent recently reviewed a promoters license in New York and is also in the process of applying for a license in Nevada. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will join TMT " The Money Team" and be promoting Floyd Mayweather when Floyd is released from his jail sentence Aug 3. This could be good for boxing since Floyd looks up to 50. If only we can get 50 to get in Floyd's ear and encourage him to take a fight with a challenge instead of cherry picking he's been doing over the last few years. 50 also took to his twitter account to inform Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, that although they have been promoting Floyd's last 6 fights, 50 bets they won't be promoting Floyd anymore.

Can Vicente Escobedo handle the speed of the flashy Adrien Broner?

You be the judge...Here's a look at the two.

King Khan Falls!

I guess Amir let his own ego get the best him. His defense was absent that night at best, and his chin had made other reservations. Danny Garcia used Khan as a stepping stone and in doing so has opened the gates to new opportunities.
